Football Saturday

Nothing like a cold beer and a nice cigar. Thanks Dave!

Yes Tim, that is a breast pump!

Cliff from Kershaw stumbling away.

Cliff (the drunk) from Kershaw

Laura and I woke up VERY early on Saturday morning to make the trek to Clemson for the Maryland game. Of course we really going to see the Regans, Courtney, and Cheryl and meet some new folks. We also got to see the Brockenfelts and catch up with them.

Even though the Tigers lost (was anyone surprised?), we had a blast tailgating and acting like college kids again. We even had a visit from Cliff from Kershaw. He was a random drunk wandering around lot 21 thinking that his ride had left him. We tried to get in touch with his ride for him, but they didn't answer their cell, so Cliff wandered off to "sleep in the woods, like he used to do while he was in the service." Shortly after he wandered his ride called and said that had not left him, they were riding around the parking lots looking for him. We got a good laugh out of that one. After the game, we even made our way to Tiger Town Tavern for a few drinks and some people watching. Would you believe that we were some of the oldest people in the joint?

It was a very long day, but wwe had a really great time and look forward to see everyone again real soon.

Happy Birthday Nanny!

Thursday was my Nanny's 86th birthday. We took the girls over to see her and wish her a happy birthday. The girls always brigthen her mood and Delainey enjoyed making her a card and singing her Happy Birthday.

Fall is in the Air!

Well Delainey celebrated her 4th birthday on Tuesday and she had a very good day. She was spoiled rotten with all of her presents and she had a little party that night. We had a few friends over along with the family and Moe's catered the meal. Delainey even got to dress up for the party.

That night Jacqueline was up most of the night and was a little fussy, but we didn't think anything was wrong other than a little teething. So when Delainey had her 4 year old checkup on Wednesday (2 finger pricks and 3 shots later), the doctor glanced in Jacqueline's ears to make Laura feel a little better. Imagine how stunned we were when he said she had a double ear infection! The girl is the happiest baby and that includes when she is sick.

To top off her birthday week, I took Delainey to Clemson for the SC State game. Of course I left the camera at home, but she had a blast. She got a Tiger Paw painted on her cheek and even got a new pompom. How cool!

To end the week, Mommy got diagnosed with strep throat today. Yuck! We hope she feels better soon!

Four Year Olds Wear Uniforms

So, Steve beat me to the punch to wish Delainey a Happy Birthday. But what a great job he did! I took Delainey uniform shopping yesterday because at her school it is optional for her grade. I told her that starting today she would have to wear her jumper because that's what 4 year olds do. I wish I had gotten a full shot of her outfit, but this is her as she was opening her one gift this morning. She has to wait until tonight for the rest. What a sweet girl! Happy Birthday baby and Steve, thank you for giving me my wonderful, beautiful dream of a family!!

Little Ms. Soccer
Four years ago today we welcome a beautiful little girl named Delainey into our life. She has been a blessing in so many ways and has brought so much happiness to our lives. Every day she makes us laugh and amazes us with how much knowledge she soaks in. She has grown from a tiny bundle in our arms to a wonderful big sister.
We love you very much Delainey and hope you have a great birthday!

Day on the Lake

Delainey was playing the role of the "Hungry Hippo"

Since Jacqueline wasn't feeling so well, Laura stayed at home with her while Delainey and I headed out to the lake with Niki and Bubba. Delainey's friend, Caroline, really wanted Delainey to come over and play, so Bubba guided the boat to the Summers' house for an afternoon of swimming and cooking out. Thank you again to our gracious hosts for a great afternoon. We all got lots of sun and had a great time.

Someone isn't feeling well

Jacqueline just hasn't been feeling well the past few days and she was up most of Saturday night/Sunday morning. Before I left on Sunday morning, I went in to check on her and this is what I found. She had taken her lovey and completely covered her head to keep from having to wake up I guess...imagine what she is going to be like as a teenager.

Sometimes...

Sometimes we think we want to put her in a box and ship her away...but then we would miss her terribly!

Bubba's Birthday Celebration

Tuesday night for Bubba's birthday we went over to Mimi's for a birthday dinner. What was on the menu? Crab legs, corn on the cob, and cheesecake! What's not to love?

We Were Swingin'

So the weather has finally cooled down enough where we can enjoy some time outside after dinner. Delainey wanted to swing, so outside we went. It was also Jac Jac's first time in the swing and she loved it! Delainey is becoming a very good swinger and likes to see how high she can get. Hopefully, she won't follow in her Dad's footsteps and try to do flips off of the swing and break any bones.

The Letdown in Atlanta

So back in the summer, Laura and I decided we would join our other friiends and make the haul to Atlanta for the Clemson-Alahama showdown. I am always a little apprehensive when I spend money to follow my beloved Tigers, because I have been letdown several times in the past. And guess what? The Tigers held true to their standards and once again let all the Tiger faithful down.
Anyway, the pregame was a blast. We left Colatown around 8am with Emily and Mimi and made the boring drive to the ATL. After checking into the hotel and freshening up we headed to the nearest MARTA station and headed downtown to the Georgia Dome. Emily was in charge of pre-game activities for The Columbia Fam and she made the right decision to join some other folks from Columbia at Stats. We were unsure of how to get there, but Emily had a GPS on her phone that led us to the right place and just in the nick of time. The line was starting to get long as we got there. We had a good time "bargating" for about 6 hours before the game. It was a great time hanging out with old friends and meeting some new folks.

I wish I could say the outcome of the game was well worth the trip, but we actaully spent more time in the car getting to the game than we did in the game itself. Hopefully, the rest of the season will go a little bit better for the Tigers.
