The Tubes are in!

So after 8 double ear infections Jac finally has some relief! We were up at 2am so that she could eat before the surgery and then again at 4:30 with both of the girls in our bed for some reason. After getting Delainey back in her bed, we slept until 5:45am and then we were up for the morning to be at the surgery center by 6:30am. We actually waited in the lobby and pre-op longer than the procedure lasted. Jac's doctor was great and if you need a ENT recommendation, let us know. She said Jac's ears were slam full of fluid, but no infection today. We left the surgery center and Laura, Jac, and myself were snuggled up back in bed by 8:30am. We had a good nap until 11am and Jac woke up the happiest baby! It is always nice when she is not screaming when she wakes up.
A big thank you to Mimi for coming over so early in the morning to take Delainey to school. Of course Delainey was thrilled about this and gave Mimi no problems, therefore we have decided Mimi should come over every morning to wake grumpy, I mean Delainey up. Delainey was so thrilled to show off her Mimi this morning at school.

Heaven Help Us!

So Delainey threw on some of her mother's boots and pulled out the old school boom box and hit the power switch. Wouldn't you know it, the darn thing turns right to an R&B station and the spirit must have gotten a hold of Delainey, because she was instantly turned into a dancing queen. I hate that one day I am going to have to hurt some little hormonal boy when he tries to dance with this sweet little girl. And leave it to her mother to encourage this dancing nonsense! I think i just felt another gray hair start growing in!

Girls Being Girls

Delainey is watching a video of herself while Jac is dancing to a singing Valentine's bear.

Now Delainey is also dancing to the singing bear. She is such a ham!

Delainey is getting ready to teach us all computer class. That is her Barbie laptop in front of her.

This is teacher Delainey. She is not happy because Mommy and Daddy were not behaving.

This is a typical morning for The Columbia Fam. This girl only sleeps for a few hours at a time. We are hoping her getting tubes at the end of this month will clear that up. Mommy and Daddy would like to sleep through the night again!

Fun Filled Weekend!

We had a great weekend with the 6th year anniversary and all. Friday night was a low key night at the house. Saturday we were off and running. We went with Mimi, the Hogues, and the Raymond's to the Shriner's Circus. Delainey got to ride the ponies and the elephant twice! I think she was just thrilled to hang out with her friend Kadin. Jac was just taking in all the noises and lights. After the circus we all went to lunch and then headed home for some rest. Mimi came over and watched the girls Saturday night while Laura and I went out to celebrate our anniversary with dinner and desert.
Sunday after church since the day was so nice we took the girls to the park and they had a blast. Jac really enjoyed the swings and sliding with Daddy. Delainey just ran around and tried to play on everything. We then had a great dinner with Jack and Niki before finally calling it a night.
Next weekend promises to be just as busy!

My Best Friend

Tomorrow will mark the six year anniversary of our wonderful marriage. I want to take a post to brag on my fantastic husband. Not only does he keep up this awesome memoir of our little family but he also works hard to provide for us, nurtures our two greatest accomplishments, gives me "Laura time" more than I think I deserve, cooks and cleans when needed, brings me ice water to bed every night, feeds and cares for the dogs, updates me on how I need to be "safe" at every minute and above all, grows the most obnoxious facial hair just to spite me! I can only imagine with this much on his plate, he must be exhausted. And yet, he still finds time to let me know constantly how much I mean to him. I, on the other hand, am not so good at telling him often enough how much I truly adore him both for being my husband and best friend, but also for being an incredible father, a wonderful son and son-in-law, a great care giver and the most honorable and loyal human being with whom I have the pleasure of spending the rest of my life! Steve, you are more than I dreamed of when I knew as a little girl that I wanted to marry and raise a family. Thank you for six years of highs, lows, in betweens and the most amazing love and warmth to make me proud to be your wife. I love you!

Super Bowl Sunday

We were invited over to the Boozers to watch the game and socialize. All the guys stayed downstairs where we could hoot and hollar at the game and the girls stayed upstairs to watch the game and talk. The girls were very nice though and kept sending down food. Although we could only stay until halftime, we had a great time. Thanks for having us over Michael and Caison!

Happy Anniversary Mimi and Poppie

Today would have been my parents 36th wedding anniversary. They set a great example for all of us to follow. I know we didn't have Poppie there, but hopefully we made Mimi's day special!
